HD403TS / HD4V3TS Hotwire Air Speed Transmitter
Overview
The HD403TS and HD4V3TS series are active hotwire air speed transmitters used for measuring and controlling air speed in ventilation ducts, clean rooms and extractor fans, as well as for monitoring indoor air quality (IAQ).
The transmitters are equipped with a hotwire sensor in a directional or omnidirectional version. The HD403TS series has a 4…20 mA output, and the HD4V3TS series has a 0…10 Vdc output. Two measuring ranges are available: 0.20…40 m/s for the models with directional probe, and 0.1…5.00 m/s for the models with omnidirectional probe. The transmitters are factory calibrated and need no further adjustment.

Installation notes
- Use the probe with clean air only and humidity below 80%.
- On the …TS1 and …TS3 directional probes, the sensor hole must face the direction of the flow. Turn the probe until the displayed speed is highest at constant flow.
- To fix the …TS1 and …TS3 probes inside a ventilation duct or pipe, use a metal cable gland.
- Set the response time jumper to SLOW in case of turbulence, otherwise use FAST.

Code format: HD403TS or HD4V3TS, followed by the probe type number.
Output: HD403TS = 4…20 mA; HD4V3TS = 0…10 Vdc.
Probe type: 1 = directional probe; 2 = omnidirectional probe; 3 = flexible directional probe; 4 = omnidirectional probe with tripod.
