Water Quality Monitoring System

Continuous sensors and manual samplers — for compliance, process control, and environmental monitoring in Singapore.

Overview

Grab samples capture one moment, days ago. Whatever happens in between is invisible for compliance and research purposes. A complete water quality monitoring programme should consist of both. Wetec closes that gap by providing the continuous in-situ sensors for live data and the right manual samplers for lab analysis.

  • Continuous Monitoring – multiparameter probes deployed at canals, manholes, tanks, reservoirs and discharge points. Live data, threshold alerts and secure remote access.
  • Manual Samplers – Van Dorn (general use), Kemmerer (for narrow access points), Beta (Trace metal & Chemical analysis), Alpha (Biological use), Bailer (Groundwater for monitoring well)

What You Can Monitor

  • Physical & Standard — temperature, pH, oxidation-reduction potential (ORP), electrical conductivity (EC), specific conductance, salinity, total dissolved solids (TDS), dissolved oxygen (DO concentration and % saturation), turbidity, water depth, and barometric pressure.

  • Chemical & Nutrient ions — ammonium (NH₄⁺), nitrate (NO₃⁻), chloride (Cl⁻), sodium (Na⁺), calcium (Ca²⁺), and bromide (Br⁻).

  • Dissolved Gases — dissolved carbon dioxide (CO₂) and total dissolved gas (TDG).

  • Biological & Optical — chlorophyll-a (blue- and red-excitation options), blue-green algae (freshwater phycocyanin and marine phycoerythrin), coloured/fluorescent dissolved organic matter (CDOM/fDOM), optical brighteners, tryptophan, underwater photosynthetically active radiation (PAR), and light transmittance.

  • Hydrocarbons & Tracers — refined oil and fuels, crude oil, rhodamine dye, fluorescein dye, and PTSA (1,3,6,8-pyrenetetrasulfonic acid) fluorescent tracer.

  • Heavy Metals — Pb, Cu, Cr, Cd, Hg, As, phosphate, BOD, COD

Where It Is Used

  • Surface Water & Groundwater Monitoring — rivers, streams, lakes, reservoirs, canals, wetlands, groundwater wells, aquifers and saltwater intrusion studies.

  • Coastal, Marine & Aquaculture Monitoring — coastal waters, estuaries, harbours, marinas, fish farms, hatcheries and marine ecosystem assessments.

  • Water, Wastewater & Industrial Monitoring — drinking water sources, wastewater treatment, industrial effluent, process water, water reuse and mining discharges.

  • Construction, Dredging & Stormwater Monitoring — land reclamation, marine construction, dredging activities, sediment disturbance, construction runoff and urban drainage systems.

  • Environmental Pollution & Early Warning Monitoring — oil spills, hydrocarbon contamination, harmful algal blooms, pollution detection and real-time water quality alerts.

  • Environmental Research & Hydrological Studies — water quality profiling, dye tracing, water movement studies, ecosystem research, baseline surveys and environmental impact assessments.

  • Aquaculture – Sea-based and land-based fish farms, prawn ponds, recirculating aquaculture system and hatcheries.
