Overview

The Senseca LPPAR01 is a PAR probe that measures the number of photons striking a surface per second and per unit area in the PAR (Photosynthetically Active Radiation) region. It is built for indoor applications that need constant monitoring of light, and it has a cosine-corrected diffuser.

The probe needs no external power supply. Light hitting the photodiode generates a photocurrent, which is converted into a potential difference through a shunt resistor and read by a voltmeter. The PAR value is then calculated with the probe's calibration factor. Each probe is individually calibrated, and its sensitivity factor is marked on the housing. The output signal can also be amplified or converted into a 4…20 mA or 0…10 Vdc signal.

Typical applications

  • Indoor photosynthetic photon flux (PAR) monitoring
  • Plant-focused light monitoring
  • Indoor applications that require constant monitoring of light in the PAR region

Key Features

  • Photon flux measurement from 0…5000 µmol·m-2s-1
  • Spectral range 400 nm…660 nm
  • Cosine-corrected diffuser
  • Typical sensitivity 30 µV/µmol·m-2s-1
  • Calibration accuracy <6%
  • Passive mV output, no external power supply needed
  • Individually calibrated, with the sensitivity factor marked on the housing
  • Compact Ø 30 mm x 38 mm body

Benefits

  • Measures photons, not just brightness, for plant-focused indoor light monitoring
  • Passive output with no external power supply, which keeps wiring simple
  • Cosine-corrected diffuser supports readings across different incidence angles
  • Individual calibration with the factor marked on the housing allows direct calculation of the PAR value
