Overview

The Senseca LPRAD01 is a radiometric probe that measures irradiance, defined as the radiant energy flow (W) crossing a surface divided by the surface area (m2), in the VIS-NIR spectral region from ≈400 nm to ≈1050 nm. It is suitable for indoor applications that need constant radiometric monitoring, and it comes in a compact Ø 30 mm x 38 mm housing with a 5 m cable.

The probe needs no external power supply. The photodiode current is converted into a potential difference through a resistor, read in mV with a voltmeter, and the irradiance value is calculated with the calibration factor marked on the probe housing. Each probe is individually calibrated, using the 577/579 nm lines of a Xe-Hg lamp filtered through a special interferential filter. The output signal can also be converted to 4…20 mA or 0…10 Vdc using compatible HD978TR series converters.

Typical applications

  • Indoor VIS-NIR irradiance monitoring
  • Indoor applications that require constant radiometric monitoring
