Overview

The Senseca LPUVC01 is a radiometric probe that measures irradiance, defined as the radiant flux (W) passing through a surface divided by the surface area (m2), in the UVC spectral range (200 nm…280 nm). Thanks to the use of a new type of photodiode, the probe is blind to visible and infrared light. It is suitable for indoor applications that need constant radiometric monitoring.

The probe needs no external power supply. The photodiode current is converted into a potential difference through a resistor and read in mV with a voltmeter, and the irradiance value is calculated with the calibration factor marked on the probe housing. Each probe is individually calibrated, by measuring the irradiance coming from an Hg lamp at 254 nm. The output signal can also be amplified or converted into a 4…20 mA or 0…10 Vdc signal.

Typical applications

  • Indoor UVC irradiance monitoring
  • Indoor applications that require constant radiometric monitoring

Key Features

  • UVC irradiance measurement in the 200 nm…280 nm range
  • Measuring range 0…200 mW/cm2
  • Spectral response with peak at 260 nm and FWHM 32 nm
  • Blind to visible and infrared light
  • Typical sensitivity 0.25 µV/(µW/cm2)
  • Calibration accuracy <10%
  • Passive mV output, no external power supply needed
  • Individually calibrated, with the calibration factor marked on the housing

Benefits

  • Dedicated UVC reading, because the probe is blind to visible and infrared light
  • Simple setup: passive mV output with no external power supply
  • Each probe has its own calibration factor marked on the housing, for direct calculation of the measured value
  • Compact Ø 30 mm x 38 mm housing with 5 m cable makes it easy to integrate into indoor measurement setups
